Georgiana Hempstead, LCSW
I became a therapist because I’ve always been deeply interested in people — how they think, feel, connect, and grow. I love understanding others and creating meaningful, supportive relationships. My early work with high school students shaped much of my focus today, especially in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, OCD, and interpersonal challenges.
My counseling philosophy is simple: lead with empathy and stay curious. I work hard to put myself in others’ shoes, whether it comes naturally or requires openness and learning. I’m always exploring new ideas in my personal life, and I bring that same curiosity into the therapy room. My goal is to help clients feel understood, valued, and supported as they build insight and resilience.
I know firsthand that life can feel overwhelming. Many pressures aren’t visible to others, and feeling truly seen can make a profound difference. I meet clients exactly where they are and help them move toward clarity, confidence, and emotional strength.
What makes my practice unique is the way I integrate my personality into my work. I value creating a warm, collaborative, and authentic environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I balance professionalism with genuine human connection, because I believe people remember how you make them feel — and I strive to make clients feel safe, understood, and empowered.
Outside of therapy, I’m grounded by the things I love: my two dogs, yoga, spiritual healing, nature, and the beach. I enjoy hiking, painting, playing piano, crafting, and even working on family cars. These interests keep me centered and help me bring creativity, calm, and authenticity into my sessions.
One quote that guides my work is from Lori Gottlieb:
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I’m committed to helping clients of all ages navigate anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship stress, and life transitions with compassion, insight, and practical tools.
