Jeff Geltman, MSW, LSW, JD

I am a therapist dedicated to helping teens, young adults, and adults better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and build emotional resilience. I became a therapist because I’ve always been genuinely interested in people — how their minds and emotions work together, how their experiences shape their lives, and how insight can empower meaningful change. Supporting clients as they learn to regulate their emotions, recognize their strengths, and overcome difficulties gives me a deep sense of fulfillment.

I specialize in Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Addiction. These areas are close to me both personally and professionally, and I am passionate about sharing what I’ve learned academically and through lived experience. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and evidence‑based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychoanalytic principles, and Strength‑based therapy. I meet clients where they are, offering a non‑judgmental, supportive space that encourages honesty, growth, and self‑understanding.

My counseling philosophy centers on building a genuine connection with each client. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, accepted, and supported. By creating a trusting relationship, I help clients develop confidence, deepen their self‑awareness, and learn skills to regulate their emotions and live healthier, more balanced lives.

I bring a unique blend of personal insight and professional training to my work. As a therapist and a lawyer, I offer a diverse and well‑informed perspective that clients often find relatable and grounding.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy painting, making music, reading, and spending time with my dog, Ruthie. I am involved in my community through a local book club and am a member of North Jersey Mensa.

I hold a law degree and am a licensed attorney in New York and New Jersey, as well as a degree in Forensic Psychology. My background in both psychology and law gives me a unique understanding of how emotional, behavioral, and legal factors intersect in people’s lives.

I look forward to helping you build on your strengths, understand yourself more deeply, and create the life you want for yourself.
